Toc toc artist è un progetto alternativo che reinterpreta il ruolo dell’artista contemporaneo come artista di casa. 

Toc toc artist nasce con il duplice obiettivo di far vivere l’arte contemporanea fuori dai circuiti convenzionali – trasferendola dalla sfera pubblica a quella privata – e di affiancare alla nozione di “street artist” quella più intima ed esclusiva di “home artist”.
Entrando nelle vostre case, venendo a contatto con il vostro modo di vivere, percependo le vibrazioni degli ambienti e degli arredi, mi propongo di tradurre le mie sensazioni in espressione artistica, dipingendo sulle vostre pareti o sulle superfici che riterrete più adatte.

Alla base del progetto è l’idea di fiducia che si stabilisce tra committente e artista: l’uno accoglie l’altro nel proprio spazio vitale e ne accetta la completa libertà espressiva e interpretativa; l’artista, a sua volta, crea un’opera unica che trascende le nozioni di design e decorazione, in grado di trasmettere e amplificare l’energia propria dell’ambiente in cui è inserita.

L’idea di questo progetto è maturata dopo otto anni di intensa sperimentazione pittorica su tela e altri supporti mobili, percepiti sempre più come insufficienti a sostenere la molteplicità di tematiche che mi appassionano: rapporto dell’opera con un luogo privato e abitato, ricerca di intimità tra arte e pubblico, superamento delle nozioni di “studio” e “spazio espositivo”.

Attraverso questa nuova proposta mi auguro di poter esplorare insieme a voi l’autentico rapporto tra arte e vita.

Toc Toc Artist (from the Italian expression ‘toc-toc’, meaning ‘knock-knock’) is an alternative project which reinterprets the role of the contemporary artists as an ‘artist at home’. Toc Toc Artist was born with the double aim of making art outside of the conventional circuits – shifting the focus from the public to the private sphere – and of replacing the notion of ‘street artist’ with that of ‘home artist’, more intimate and exclusive. Allow me to visit your home, to absorb the vibrations of the ambience and decor, to come into contact with your lifestyle, and I shall turn my sensations into artistic expression, painting on your walls or on the surfaces of your preference.

At the core of this project lies the concept of mutual trust established between the patron and the artist: the former welcomes the latter into his living space and accepts his expressive and interpretative freedom; the artist, in his turn, creates a unique art piece which transcends the notions of design and decoration, able to convey and amplify the energy specific to the surrounding ambience.

The idea of Toc Toc Artist has taken shape after eight years of intense experimentation with painting on canvas and other mobile supports, which I have come to consider inadequate to sustain the multiplicity of themes and phenomena I wish to explore. Among these are the relationship between works of art and private living spaces, the creation of true intimacy between art and its public, and the quest for alternatives to the notions of ‘atelier’ and ‘exhibition space’.

Through this new approach, and thanks to your hospitality, I hope to be able to uncover the authentic connection between Art and Life.
